Acapulco, along the Pacific Coast, has long since been a popular tourist destination due to its top class beaches and has also been a classic destination for the rich and famous to buy real estate in Mexico. With over 20km of pristine sandy coastline, Acapulco offers lazy days on the sand or any sort of water sports you may wish to try. Some of the more popular beaches include:
Caleta and Caletilla – known for their calm waters and wonderful scenery looking out towards Roqueta Island. They are two of the more traditional Mexican beaches, filled with restaurants, amusement rides, parks and camping grounds, swimming pools and waterslides, and a huge selection of water sport equipment for hire.
Puerto Marques – is a popular with locals and offers a more traditional Mexican feel. Also on offer is a great selection of sumptuous seafood dining along this beach. It is located 15 km southeast of Acapulco.
Punta Diamante – is located only 5 km southeast of Puerto Marques, and is well known for its powdery white sand and strong surf, making it popular among surfers.
Pichilingue – is located near Punta Diamante, and is most famous for its very expensive and luxurious homes and villas situated along the beach. This beach is popular with many celebrities.
Pie de la Cuesta – also know for its strong waves is located 10 km northeast of Acapulco, and is also a popular surfing beach.
Icacos – located in the southern end of the bay, features Acapulco’s longest and biggest beach, and is located within the popular tourist district of Zona Dorada. With tourist marine parks to visit and water sport equipment for hire, Icacos Beach is a popular destination.
 
Ixtapa in the state of Guerrero is a beautiful destination, as its beaches are situated between the stunning Sierra Madre mountains and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. Two of its most popular beaches are at Playa Linda and La Ropa. These are popular for their gentle surf and protected waters, making them a great destination for families with children. They are popular beaches for water sports.
 
Vallarta Nayarit offers beautiful beaches along the Pacific Ocean set against the Sierra Madre mountains. Vallarta Nayarit is located on Banderas Bay which is an important ecological area, giving these beaches a natural beauty that is quite diverse. Vallarta Nayarit has become increasingly popular with foreigners investing in real estate in Mexico.  Some of the more popular beaches at Vallarta Nayarit include:
Yelapa – situated at the southern end of the Bay mixes white sandy beaches with lush jungle landscapes.
Majahuitas – if you are looking for peace and seclusion, this is the beach for you. The warm climate provides excellent relaxation on the beautiful sands of Majahuitas Beach.
Munta Mita – on the northern end of the Bay has warm waters and fine smooth sand. It is popular with those interested in a variety of water sports due to its clear waters and small waves.
San Francisco – is a popular beach due to its picturesque beauty, approximately 1.5 km long, and has calm crystal clear waters surrounded by beautiful mountain views.
 
Puerto Escondido, along the waters of the Pacific, is famous for its fine sandy beaches surrounded by lush vegetation, and more notably for its water sports, most popularly its surfing and fishing tournaments. Located in the state of Oaxaca, some of its more popular beaches include:
Playa Zicatela – its strong surf makes it a popular surfing beach, and each year it plays host to an international surfing competition. Playa Zicatela is located southeast of Puerto Escondido, and is a long beach with lovely fine sand.
Playa Principal – this beach offers warmer waters and more calm and mild waves. Each November Playa Principal hosts a very well known sport fishing tournament. It is located south of Puerto Escondido.
Puerto Angelito – the most popular beach in Puerto Escondido attracts visitors due to its warm waters, gentle waves, and its relaxed atmosphere. Puerto Angelito is popular for water sports, and has a good selection of equipment for hire. It is an excellent beach for families with children.
 
Cancun is definitely one of Mexico’s premium beach resort destinations, considered internationally as one of the best tourist destinations, and is gaining in popularity for its great real estate in Mexico. Cancun’s crystal clear Caribbean waters are its biggest attraction. Couple this with perfect beach weather, top class hotels and restaurants, and an endless availability of water sports and activities for all ages. Cancun’s list of beaches are impressive:
Playa Langosta – is located along the popular hotel strip and is one of Cancun’s most popular beaches. From here you can easily catch one of the many tourist boats taking visitors to and from Isla Mujeres.
Playa Linda – this beach is also in the hotel area and only about 1 km west of Playa Langosta. Playa Linda plays an important role in Mexico’s international tourism industry as it is one of the main stopovers for the international cruise liners to dock. Although it can be a busy beach in the peak seasons, the calm waters make it a great place for children to swim safely.
Playa Caracol – this beach is most popular with families due to its shallow calm waters, and is also popular with water skiers.
Playa Marlin – if you are looking for some peace and quiet away from the busy tourist beaches, Playa Marlin is a great beach for a romantic getaway. This beach is about 15 min from the hotel area, and only ½ km from a very interesting archaeological site of Yamil Lu’um.
 
Playa Del Carmen, with some of the most beautiful real estate in Mexico, offers the best of what the Caribbean coastline has to offer. With calm, warm turquoise-blue waters, Playa Del Carmen is quickly becoming a sought after tourist destination and a popular place for foreign investors buying real estate in Mexico. Two of Playa Del Carmen’s most beautiful beaches are:
Playa Paamul – this beach has fairly calm waters, and pristine white sands. Popular with many different water sports, Playa Paamul is located about 20 km south of Playa Del Carmen.
Playa Paraiso – located about 20 km north of Playa Del Carmen, Playa Paraiso offers a very relaxing Caribbean atmosphere with its stunning waters and sands surrounded by lush vegetation. Playa Paraiso benefits from being a more relaxed and quiet environment.
 
Isla Mujeres, which has some of the most exclusive real estate in Mexico, located 14 km off the Caribbean coast of Cancun, is considered one of the most picturesque places in all of Mexico. The island is only 8 km long and about 2 km wide, and its beaches offer something for everyone, here are two:
Playa Norte – located to the north of the Island, this beach offers calmer waters than some of the other stronger surf beaches on the island, making it a popular spot for all kinds of water sports.
Playa Lancheros – located 4.5 km to the south, is most well known for the natural pool that has formed on the shoreline.
