PUEBLA
Puebla, the 4th largest city in Mexico, is located in the Puebla Valley, surrounded by snow-capped mountains and volcanoes, 136 km (84 mi) south east of Mexico City.  The climate is mild and semi-humid, with generally cool days during the summer months, and an average temperature of 16º C (61º F).
Known as Puebla de los Ángeles (The City of Angles), the city has some 5,000 colonial buildings, which are mostly of Spanish baroque style architecture built during the 16th century, many of which have been restored in recent times, which make it an enticing and fascinating World Heritage Site.  Without doubt, the most impressive of these is the Puebla Cathedral.  The Biblioteca Palafoxiana, located in the Casa de la Cultura, is a baroque style library containing over 42,000 volumes held in beautiful carved wood casings. Apart from the splendid architecture, Puebla offers excellent cuisine, with some world famous dishes, which blends pre-Hispanic, Arabic, French and Spanish influences.
Throughout the Historical Centre’s streets and plazas you can discover wonderful craft markets, selling Talavera pottery, el arbol de la vida (the tree of life) figurines, bark paper paintings and unique onyx and marble sculptures. And in the surrounding areas of Puebla you can discover beautiful nature reserves including the Izta-Popo National Park, La Malinche National Park and the Valle de Tehuacan Biosphere Reserve, the largest reserve in the world.
