CUERNAVACA
Cuernavaca is located 89 km (55 mi) south of Mexico City, in the northern region of the state of Morelos. The city has a pleasant climate, with fairly consistent year-round temperature of 27º C (80º F).
Known as the ‘City of Eternal Spring’ for its warm reliable weather, Cuernavaca, the capital city of Morelos, is surrounded by some of the most beautiful and culturally rich regions in Mexico. Cuernavaca has always been a popular holiday destination for the people from the Mexico City Valley region ever since the Aztec era to the present day rich and famous. It offers top quality hotel and resort facilities, with luxurious spas, and also rich history, colour and culture abound within the beautiful city. With hilly cobblestone streets, striking scenery and some magnificent historical architecture, including examples from the Aztec era through to the colonial period.  The Palacio de Cortes (Palace of Cortez), the oldest colonial civic construction in Mexico which houses some stunning murals from the renowned artist Diego Rivera, the Convento del la Asuncion (Convent of The Assumption), la Capilla de San Jose (San Jose Chapel) are all popular sites of interest.  The Jardin Borda (Borda Garden), is a wonderful site and considered an important city symbol due to its rich history and natural beauty.
Cuernavaca is conveniently located within easy reach of some of Mexico’s famous tourist destinations.  The Corredor Biologico Ajusco-Chichinautzin, an ideal spot for a wide variety of outdoor adventure pursuits, and the swimming resort of Las Estacas, which have crystalline springs surrounded by some of the state’s most beautiful natural scenery, are within the surrounding areas of Cuernavaca. For a step back in time you can visit the Xochicalco archaeological area, declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO, offering some amazing experiences, from ancient pre-Columbian architecture, to the Zempoala Lagoons and its surrounding forest.
TEPOZTLAN
Tepoztlan is located in the heart of the Tepoztlan Valley, along the foothills of the Sierra del Chichinautzin.  21 km (13 mi) east of Cuernavaca and 71 km (44 mi) south of Mexico City, the average year-round temperature is 18º C (64º F), with low humidity.
Meaning ‘place of abundant copper’, Tepoztlan is rich in natural resources.  Considered a popular tourist destination, the renowned and imposing Cerro del Tepozteco (Tepozteco Hill), has the remains of an ancient pre-Hispanic temple on the top of the hill.  It is said that this site has a positive energy force, which is why it draws hundreds of visitors during the spring equinox, and the town has fame for being a place where energies and mysticism combine.
The city’s colonial neighborhoods offer picturesque cobblestone streets and quaint architecture, including an important 16th-century convent, a variety of museums, and numerous craft and art stores. Ensure you try the famous tepoznieves, ice cream made by the locals, which come in exotic flavours, such as avocado, and tequila.
In the surrounding areas there is a number of interesting destinations to visit, including the magnificent Parque Nacional El Tepozteco (Tepozteco National Park), the Campo Escuela Scout Meztitla and Campamento Camohmila for great camping or climing, Cuautla, a city known for its colonial architecture, or the towns of Yautepec and Tlayacapan, which house some beautiful examples of Dominican and Franciscan convents.
