Ensenada is locally referred to as La Bella Cenicienta del Pacífico, which translates to ‘The Cinderella of the Pacific’. ROSARITO
Rosarito is located in the Mexican state of Baja California Norte, and is only 20 minutes south of the US boarder, and only about 35 minutes south of San Diego in California, USA. Rosarito is most popular for its hot climate year round, its long stretches of wide sandy beaches, and its nightlife. Rosarito is one of the most popular destinations for US citizens looking to purchase Baja Mexico real estate.
Rosarito had traditionally been considered a part of the city of Tijuana, until in 1995, with the help of the influential Hugo Torres Chabert, who then was elected as Mayor of Rosarito, it was converted into an independent city and a separate municipality of Baja California Norte.
Rosarito’s tourism industry first became popular in the 1920’s and 1930’s with those well to do and the rich and famous who found the easy access to Rosarito from the US, combined with the exciting flavours and rich culture one could experience in Mexico, all too inviting.

Also it is well worth a visit to some of the original ranches dating back to the 1800’s when much of the land around Rosarito was granted to a selection of native Mexicans who went on to build some amazing huge Mexican Ranches showcasing the wonderful and impressive architecture of their time.
