OVERVIEW MEXICO

Formally called the United Mexican States, and commonly known as Mexico, this country is full of extensive history, amazing scenery, and a diverse and vibrant people and culture. Over the past 10 years Mexico has undergone rapid change and has experienced a phenomenal growth in interest from both the tourist and property investment industries, largely in response to the country’s opening to democracy and focus on being market-oriented.

From its stunning pristine beaches to its high mountain ranges, Mexico offers wonderful constant temperatures year-round. With world-class resorts growing in popularity yearly, especially in the Baja California Peninsular, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico has taken a giant leap forward on the world’s centre stage. The warm constant climate and finest quality beaches are just some of the reasons drawing interest and investment from the rich and famous the world over.

Located in North America, bordering the USA to the north, and Guatemala and Belize to the south, Mexico is full of diversity and a mix of cultures. Steeped in history dating back thousands of years, the Mexico of today is the result of an eclectic mix of its volatile past and its push for independence and acceptance to be recognised as a country worthy of its place among the leaders of the world. In terms of trade, culture, and diplomacy, Mexico is an influential and powerful neighbour to the USA, and the Mexican government has openly sought stronger integration with world powers. Over the past 20 years the Mexican government has focused on boosting international confidence in the Mexican economy, which has seen an influx of foreign capital and fuelled predictions of imminent economic booms. Although the devaluation of the peso in 1994 led to economic turmoil in Mexico, this robust nation continues to make an impressive recovery.
Mexico is divided into 31 states, and is lined by the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of California to the west coast, and the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea on the east coast.
